This rubric is used to assess the written portion of the statistical study. It will also be used by the students to engage them in the grading process.

Writing	Exceeds Expectation The text is well-written. It has proper tone, audience, and language. It is organized , structures, and flows logically. Conventions of the English language are followed meticulously.	Meets Expecation The text has a recognizable order and information can be found and understood easily. Technical writing errors are minimal.	Approaches Expectation Writing lacks organization or clarity, or is riddled with spelling, grammar or mechanics errors.
Formatting	Exceeds Expectation Satisfactory elements plus: Text includes helpful headings. Document begins with a title and includes all relevant information about assignment.	Meets Expecation Written report is the appropriate length cover all the specifications and fairly easy to read.	Approaches Expectation Report is not the appropriate length; does not cover all the specifications, or is otherwise difficult to read.
Introduction & Rationale	Exceeds Expectation The target population is clearly identified, all research variables are introduced, and background information or rationale for the topic are clearly stated.	Meets Expecation The target population is identified but is unclear and/or inaccurate.	Approaches Expectation Ideas on what you studied not introduced, research variables are not introduced or described. No background information or rationale for topic.
