Bag	None There was no bag provided.	Below Average The bag provided did not relate to the story in any way.	Average The student gave an explanation for the use of the bag, but it was an illogical correlation.	Above Average The bag was decorated to represent the story but could have been a little neater.	Superior The bag was either decorated or in some way represented the story.
Reading and Items

In-class reading	Poor The student never brought his/her novel to class and usually wasted time by talking, sleeping, drawing, etc.	Below Average The student rarely brought his/her book to class and had to be called on numerous times for not reading during the allotted time. Average The student provided good detail in the presentation and was able to anwer most, but not all, questions.	Above Average The student provided excellent detail, but the presentation was a little difficult to follow/understand because the student either jumped around in his/her information or was not specific when referring to certain characters or events.	Superior The student provided excellent detail and was able to answer all questions, if any, so that it appeared clear that he/she was knowledgeable about the novel.
