Understanding 20 pts Demonstration on the understanding of the use of the the different elements and principles of art. Student used a viewfinder to capture specific area of photo and drew it to scale. Referred to charcoal notes to be successful.	Extraordinary The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of all concepts and instructions is clearly shown. Student accurately drew the area in the viewfinder in their drawing and used CFS checklist to guide their success.	Above average The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of most concepts and instructions is shown. Student accurately drew most of the area in the viewfinder and used CFS checklist to guide their success.	Average The art work is planned adequately; understanding of some concepts and instructions shown. Student accurately drew some of the area in the viewfinder and referred to the CFS checklist some of the time.	Below average The artwork shows little evidence of understanding the concepts and instructions. Student did not accurately draw the area in the viewfinder and rarely referred to the CFS checklist.	Poor The artwork shows no understanding of the concepts and instructions. Did not draw what was in the viewfinder and did not refer to CFS checklist.

Hard outlines are not shown.	Above average The artwork shows good craftsmanship, with some attention to detail. Most work is neat and clean, with hardly any smudging or fingerprints. Few outlines are shown.	Average The artwork shows average craftsmanship and attention to detail. Minimal smudges and outlines are shown.	Below average The artwork shows below average craftsmanship and little attention to detail. Hard outlines, lines are all the same width, and excessive amount of fingerprints and smudges are all over the work. Value has not been blended.	Poor The artwork shows poor craftsmanship and no attention to detail. Extremely hard outlines, very dark or muted value, no varying line width, work is very messy, and values have not been blended.
Creativity/ Originality 20 pts Inventiveness, expression of ideas and imagination.	Extraordinary The artwork demonstrates original personal expession and outstanding problem solving skills. Effort 20 pts What it takes to finish the project as well as possible, time dedicated to the project inside and/or out of class.	Extraordinary The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project well as possible; used class time extremely well.
