Repousse (Metal Tooling) Animal Portrait

Your animal portrait should have: ●Areas of concave and convex. ●Must have areas that show texture: ●Lines, hatching, cross-hatching, etc. ●Shapes, designs (rocks, leaves, tree, spots on an animal, feathers, etc.) ●Mount it to a piece of cardboard. Then do one or both of these options: ●Antique it with India ink or paint it; and/or ●Add a piece of paper or tagboard behind the metal and draw or doodle on it using chalk pastels, oil pastels, sharpies, or colored pencils.

And/or ●Antique it with India ink or paint it; and/or ●Add a piece of paper behind the metal; draw or doodle on it using another medium.	Excellent Student incorporated all the required elements of the project.	Good Student incorporated some the required elements of the project. Missing one element.	Fair Student did not include all of the required elements of the project.
Timeliness Student used his/her time well and worked efficiently.	Excellent Student was able to complete the assignment within the allotted time. Student used their time wisely. Ink and or paint has been applied neatly and carefully with no smudges, smears, excessive or large rips in the metal, etc.	Good Student's artwork has some smudges, smears, etc. A few areas that could have been "worked" more to create larger concave/convex areas or areas that have a few extra wrinkles that could have been "worked out."	Fair Student's artwork has many smudges, smears, or numerous large tears, etc. There are many areas that could have been "worked" more to create larger concave/convex areas or areas that have a numerous wrinkles that could have been "worked out." Ink or paint was applied in a way that takes away from the design.
Creativity/Originality/Effort Student used their own ideas. Student's art looks complete.They spent a great deal of time sketching, painting, etc. There were 8 days of studio time allowed for this project and the student's work reflects that fact.	Excellent Student's thought outside of the box to come up with a unique artistic idea. Student filled the whole picture plane with all the required elements and/or student added more than what was required of them. Students artwork looks like they spent a great deal of time on it or all of the studio days working on it.	Good Student came up with an interesting artistic idea. Design is simple; or an area of the project looked rushed. Students artwork looks like they spent a fair amount of time on it.	Fair Student's idea was predictable or copied from another student or artist. Student's artwork does not look like they spent a great deal of time on it as many areas look rushed; numerous areas could have used more time spent on them. Student's artwork does not reflect the fact that we had 8 days of studio time.
