A basic level of music theory knowledge is present in their writing.	Excellent Student shows an in-depth and accurate knowledge of tonality. Advanced level of music theory knowledge present in their paper.
Structure	Poor Student's writing is unclear and detracts from the overall meaning of their paper. Many grammatical errors are present.	Fair Student writing is unclear at times and overall structure of paper is not thought out. Some grammatical errors present. Analysis	Poor Student provides a tonality for the piece but does not support the claim with evidence from the music.	Fair Student provides a tonality for the piece, but only gives general evidence from the music. Student does not explain why the others are incorrect.	Good Student identifies the tonality of the piece, and draws examples from either the recording or the score. Student supports the chosen tonality, but does not really explain why the others are incorrect.	Excellent Student identifies the tonality of the piece, and draws specific examples from both the recording and the score.Student comparatively explains why the other tonalities are incorrect.
