Portfolio Requirements	Excellent Must include between 23- 25 of the written elements and a minimum of 20 of the 40 free writes / writing prompts that have been covered.	Good Between 2-3 elements are missing from the portfolio.	Fair Between 4-5 elements are missing from the portfolio.	Insufficient More than 5 elements are missing from the portfolio
Written Presentation	Excellent The project is organized in a neat, logical order that includes name, table of contents and a letter introducing the portfolio.	Good The project is missing an element from the portfolio.	Fair The project is missing 2 elements from the portfolio.	Insufficient The project is missing 3 or more elements from the portfolio.
Letter	Excellent Clearly introduces the portfolio and explains one or more of the writing pieces; why they chose that particular writing piece to focus on; what they learned; and what they hope to accomplish with their writing in the future.	Good Missing one element for the letter.	Fair Missing two elements from the letter.	Insufficient Missing 3 or more elements from the writing and/or writing is incoherent / not related to the portfolio.
Oral Presentation	Excellent Comprehends and expresses, with clarity, the components of the portfolio. Student is able to explain in detail about their portfolio.	Good Comprehends and expresses, with assistance, the components of the portfolio. Student requires prompting to explain the detail about their portfolio.	Fair Difficulty comprehending and expressing the components of the portfolio. Student gives little/no explanation about their portfolio.	Insufficient Student is unable to comprehend and express the components of their portfolio.
