History Scrapbook Project

Students will create a scrapbook from the point of view of a person from history. The person can be a general character such as an American soldier in the Vietnam War or a specific person such as President John F. Kennedy.

There are two or more historical inaccuracies.	Poor Students shows a lack of understanding of the topic. There are three or more historical inaccuracies.
Required elements	Excellent - 15 pages - 10 Drawings/Pictures - 5 Mementos - Written in 1st person - Includes a work cited page with 5 or more sources.	Good - 13-14 pages - 8-9 Drawings/Pictures - 4 Mementos - Written in 1st person -Includes a work cited page with 3-4 sources.	Fair - 10-12 pages - 5-7 Drawings/Pictures - 3 Mementos - Written in 1st person Includes a work cited page with 1-2 sources.	Poor - less than 10 pages - 1-4 Drawings/Pictures - 1-2 Mementos - Written in 1st person Does not include a work cited page.
Quality of Information	Excellent Information is original, well written, creative, and organized.	Good Information is original and organized. One to two pieces of information are copied off the internet	Fair Some information is original. A large portion of the information is copied from an internet source. Neatness/Organization	Excellent The scrapbook is completed in a neat and organized fashion. Captions and written material make the project easily follow, read, and clear. Fair Three or more elements are out of order or missing. Project is difficult to follow. Some information is easy to read and follow.	Poor Four or more elements are missing or out of order.
