U.S. History Group Presentation Project 
This rubric is for a U.S. History final research project, comprised of a resentation given by four students; each student is responsible for individually researching for political cartoons, completing a two page, typed paper which includes an analysis of their chosen political cartoon using two secondary sources.

Group Presentation

The Group Presentation can be: a PowerPoint presentation, or a website titled "U.S. Foriegn Policy as Drawn by Twentieth Century Cartoonist." It must include: visually attractive images, proper citations, two or three paragraphs describing the historical context (cultural, economic, and political), indicating the meaning and/or target of the images.

Excellent

Presentation meets or exceeds all of the presentation expectations.
Good

Presentation includes images with properly cited information, clearly presented the the historical context, and explained the images in a through manner.
Fair

Presentation includes images with factual information, and presented an somewhat satisfactory understanding of the historical context.
Poor

Presentation includes images, some citations, and a short paragraph with historical context.
Unacceptable

Presentation includes images presented without either citation or historical context.
Oral Presentation

Presentation is delivered in a clear, audible manner and presenters answer any questions satisfactorily. Presentation is given on the scheduled date.

Excellent

Presenters meet or exceed all of the presentation criteria.
Good

Presenters meet most of the presentation criteria, with limited or incomplete answers to questions.
Fair

Presenters not able to clearly present their material but are able to answer most questions competently.
Poor

Presenters are unable to clearly present information and have limited or incomplete answers to questions.
Unacceptable

Presenters unable to meet presentation criteria and fail to respond to questions.
PRESENTATION SCORE

Students giving presentation receive same score.

Individual Research Paper

Two page, typed, 12pt font, single-spaced paper; an analysis of their chosen political cartoon using at last two secondary sources adressing-at lenght-a particular historical contex (that is, cultural, economic, or political). Paper is delivered on due date.

Report submitted meets or exceeds the prosecribed format and includes all the elements requested, wiht comprehensive explanation and use of secondary sources.
Good

Report submitted in prosecribed format and includes all of the elements and most details, and is relatively comprehensive, using two secondary sources.
Fair

Report submitted in prosecribed format and includes most of the elements, using one secondary source.
Poor

Report submitted in prosecribed format and includes some of the elements but limited, and one secondary sources.
Unacceptable

Report not submitted in prosecribed format with few of the elements and/or missing details, without resources.
Audience Participation

Listens attentively to other presenters Does not speak out or interrupt presenters; Asks relevant questions of presenters
