Themes Addressed Dreams Isolation Cruelty	Excellent A theme (or more than one) is thoroughly and richly explored in the xtranormal movie.	Good At least one theme is addressed or explored in the xtranormal movie.	Fair Themes were not addressed. The xtranormal movie talked about the book, but not about essential questions or primary themes.	Poor No attempt was made. Not even sure if the book was the basis for this xtranormal movie (even though there may be characters by the same names).
Writing:Narrative Flow Students will organize ideas in a logical sequence with effective transitions	Excellent The scene was well planned and transitioned well from shot to shot. The lines of the players involved were easy to follow.	Good Scene was relatively organized and easy to follow. Perhaps more planning would have helped a bit.	Fair Scene was highly unorganized and difficult for audience to follow.	Poor No attempt was made. The cafeteria would put ketchup on this and call it beef. But we'd all know the difference.
Product Design: Media Student will determine appropriate media relevant to audience and purpose, that extends and supports oral,written, and visual communication.	Excellent The digital tool was used to great effect in supporting the ideas and themes in OMAM. It looks and sounds polished to the audience	Good The site was used fairly effectively. One or two components of the visual, written, or audio, could have portrayed the ideas in a better way to the audience.	Fair The site and tools have been used with little thought for the audience.	Poor No attempt was made. My hamster could have done better . . . and my gerbil did do better.
MUGS Mechanics, Usage, Grammar, Spelling.	Excellent Use of sophisticated mechanics, usage grammar and spelling suited the purpose, context and audience.	Good Use of appropriate mechanics, usage grammar and spelling suited the purpose, context and audience.	Fair Errors began to interfere with understanding.	Poor No attempt was made. I gave it to my 1st grader to MUGS check, and he couldn't help snickering.
