Writing Mechanics	Excellent Writing is descriptive, providing detailed information. An extensive vocabulary is used to keep the reader interested and informed.	Good The writing is clear and concise. Contains 1 or 2 spelling or grammatical errors.	Fair The writing is somewhat clear and concise. Only contains 3 to 5 spelling of grammatical errors.	Poor The writing is vague and unclear. It contains many spelling or grammatical errors.
Creativity	Excellent Imaginitive and original use of layout. Elements are added to create a dynamic layout with little or appropriate white space. Also, students wrote their own story/stories.	Good Layout is used with additional image boxes and elements added. Content is original and fairly creative.	Fair Layout has the basic elements included however some of the items used are not original.	Poor The layout contains too much leftover white space.
On Task	Excellent Students spent class time effectively. Also worked outside of class.	Good Student spent most of class on task.	Fair Student only spent some of class time on task.	Poor Did not spend adequate time working on task.
