Genetic Engineering Public Service Announcement

Have you ever felt so concerned about something you wanted to shout it from the rooftops? A PSA, or Public Service Announcement allows you to do just that! In this activity, you will work in groups to write a PSA from the perspective of someone whose opinion matters! A public service announcement (PSA) are messages in the public interest disseminated by the media without charge, with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue.

Content	Poor Content is weak. Facts are inaccurate. Student should have research in more depth. Zero Facts are given.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions. Students includes only 1 statistic and 1 solution. Also can be missing combinations.	Good Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate. Student only includes 2 statistics and 2 solutions.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration. Student includes 3 statistics and 3 solutions.
Organization	Poor Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information.	Fair Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow. Time constraints followed.	Excellent Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. Time constraints followed.
Volume and Clarity	Poor Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for viewing audience to hear	Fair Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms.
