The writer generally stays on topic for each paragraph.	poor Paragraphs do not have a clear focus. Writer does not stay on topic for each paragraph.
Detail	Excellent Relevant, quality details give the reader important information that goes beyond the obvious or predicatble. Detailsls are presented to support the main ideas.	Satisfactory Some supportive details are included in the paragraphs, but the writer does not go into enough detail.	poor Details are very limited and unclear.
Length	Excellent Paragraphs are a good length, provided the reader with subtantial information about the characters.	Satisfactory Paragraphs are satisfactory in length, but information could have been elaborated for longer prargarphs	poor Paragraph length is not adequate for development
