Elements of Art Cube Elements of Art Cube Students will construct a cube from poster board. Each face of the cube will represent one of the art elements, except for Form, which will be represented by the cube itself. Art Elements: Color, Line, Space, Shape, Value, Texture, and Form. Elements of Art	Poor - Needs Improvement The cube has 2 or fewer examples of the elements of art.	Fair The cube has 3-4 examples of the elements of art.	Good The cube has all 7 examples of the elements of art.	Exceeds Expectations The cube includes all 7 of the elements of art and represents each one in a creative and thought provoking way. Personal artistic ideas have been incorporated.
Overall Design	Poor - Needs Improvement Images are drawn too small, images are centered on the face of the cube, and lacks creativity in composition. The cube does not have a unified feel to it.	Fair The artwork on the cube has 1-2 images centered, some images are drawn too small, and there is a lack of creativity. The cube does not have a unified feel to it.	Good The artwork on most of the cube includes creative compositions, including images that are cropped, placed on angles, etc. Some views are zoomed in and creativity is evident. There is unity in the cube.	Exceeds Expectations The artwork on the cube includes angular placement, images that are cropped, and creative compositions on all faces. Views are zoomed and "out of the box" thinking is evident on all faces. The overall look of the cube feels unified.
Craftsmanship	Poor - Needs Improvement The cube has 5-6 sides that are not cut neatly and/or glued correctly.	Fair The cube has 3-4 sides that are not cut neatly and/or glued correctly.	Good The cube has 1-2 sides that are not cut neatly and/or glued correctly.	Exceeds Expectations The cube is cut out neatly, assembled, and glued correctly. There are no gaps, tabs are completely hidden, and the overall look of the cube is well put together.
Clean-up & Time Management	Poor - Needs Improvement Did not clean up materials each day. Did not use class time efficiently, not on task most days.	Fair Cleaned up materials some of the time, wasted lots of class time. Was off task often.	Good Cleaned up materials most days, was overall productive and used class time well.	Exceeds Expectations Cleaned up each day quickly and efficiently, did not have to be asked to put materials back in the correct place, used class time very efficiently and spent any extra time refining details of the project.
