Science Homework Project

Students researched either an Australian animal or plant of their choosing creating a poster to share with the class. Students will be giving an "expert talk" to their peers.

Poster Content	Advanced Content is accurate and all required information is presented in a clear, concise and organised way form, showing a strong understanding of the chosen animal or plant.	Proficient Content is accurate and most required information is presented in a clear and organised way, showing a sound understanding of the chosen animal or plant.	Developing Content is accurate but some required information is missing and/or not presented, showing a vague understanding of the chosen animal or plant.	Elementary Content is either questionable or incomplete. Information is not presented clearly, showing little to no understanding of the chosen animal or plant.
Poster Presentation	Advanced Presentation is neat, visually appealing, well- organised and presented in a creative way. Poster includes a range of images and/or drawings with labelling on chosen animal or plant.	Proficient Presentation is mostly neat, organised and shows some degree of creativity. Poster includes some images and/or drawings of chosen animal or plant.	Developing Presentation is somewhat neat and organised showing little to no creativity. Poster include few image and/or drawing of chosen animal or plant.	Elementary Presentation is unorganised, messy and not visually appealing, showing no creativity. Poster does not include any images and/or drawings of chosen animal or plant.
Oral Speaking Presentation	Advanced Voice was clear, maintained eye contact, excellent posture. Student was extremely knowledgable about country studied.	Proficient While student's posture was good, voice was fair and easy to hear with sufficient eye contact	Developing Student's posture was good, voice was difficult to understand, limited eye contact.	Elementary Student had trouble reading the information off notes, was not secure in information about country. Voice was quiet difficult to hear. Posture was poor, moving all around. Poor eye contact.
Work quality/effort	Advanced The quality of the poster exceeds all expectations. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be.	Proficient The quality of the poster meets expectations.The effort that was put into this task was considerable.	Developing The quality of the poster somewhat meets expectations, however is lacking detail. The effort that was put into this task was disappointing.	Elementary The quality does not meet any expectations. It is evident that no effort was put into this task and that the research was rushed.
