iRubric: Social Justice Reaction/Reflection Paper rubric

There is evidence of extensive reflection. Ideas are thoughtful and insightful. Examples are used that add depth.

There is evidence of reflection, but not always extensive or deep. Occasional thoughtful ideas. Some use of ideas from other readings, class discussion, etc. Some use of examples.

Ideas are superficial and more factual than reflective. Little to no use of examples OR excessive story-telling that does not add to the depth of the paper.

Ideas are logically organized and developed. An introduction provides a "road map" for the reader. Transitions move the reader easily between ideas.

Paper proceeds logically but flow is impeded in places by problems with transition or organization. Stronger introductory road map needed.

Ideas are not organized; seem random. Transitions are absent. Paper does not flow well.

APA format virtually perfect -- margins, cover page, in text citations, reference list, etc.

Few or minor APA errors.

Extensive APA errors.
