Students are writing sentence(s) with adverbs. Students understand that adverbs tell how, when, or why something occurred. All sentences must begin with a capital letter and have proper end punctuation.

Correct Adverb Usage Student understands how to form a sentence and that an adverb modifies verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs.	Novice Student does not use an adverb in their sentences correctly.	Basic Student uses several of the adverbs in their sentences correctly.	Proficient Student used all of the adverbs in their sentences correctly.
Spelling Uses correct spelling in sentences.	Novice There may be one or more spelling errors.	Basic There may be one or more spelling errors.	Proficient Every word used is spelled correctly.
Conventions of Grammar Capitalization and puncuation	Novice More than one sentence has errors in capitalization and/or end punctuation.
