Grid Drawing Grid Drawn Self-Portrait Using a digital photo, grid the photo in a 1/2 inch grid. Then create a 1 inch grid on your drawing paper to transfer your drawing to. After transferring your drawing using the grid, use two different mediums and color/shade your drawing. You will be graded on incorporating your own personal artistic style, use composition and design, craftsmanship, and effort. Specifications	Exceeds the Standard Student went above the standard and incorporated their own personal artistic style using 4 or more media	Above the Standard Student went above standard and incorporated their own personal artistic style using 3 different media	Meets the Standard Student incorporated 2 different media within their piece in a somewhat cohesive manner.	Below the Standard Student incorporated only one medium in their portrait in a somewhat cohesive manner.	Unsatisfactory Student incorporated only one medium within their piece with little or no thought.
Composition & Design	Exceeds the Standard Student applies 4 or more design principles with excellent skill.	Above the Standard Student applies 3 design principles with above average skill.	Meets the Standard Student applies 2 design principles with average skill.	Below the Standard Student applies 1 design principles with minimum skill.	Unsatisfactory Student applies 1 or less design principles without thought or skill.
Craftsmanship	Exceeds the Standard Student completes artwork with high level of craftsmanship. Drawing is neat, clean & complete. Piece is not wrinkled, torn, or otherwise “distressed”.	Above the Standard Student completes artwork with some high levels of craftsmanship and some finishing touches.	Meets the Standard Student completes artwork with evidence of basic levels of craftsmanship.	Below the Standard Student completes artwork with isolated evidence of craftsmanship.	Unsatisfactory Student completes artwork without concern for craftsmanship.
Effort	Exceeds the Standard Assignment is complete, far exceeded requirements.
