This Rubric will assess your performance in bringing together research and designing a poster depicting the life of an explorer. Included in this project will be a report on the individual explorer.

Ideas (facts) are supported by details.	Level 4 Information is clear, detailed, relevant to topic, and written in student's own words in a creative manner. All appropriate topics covered well. Also includes many interesting facts.	Level 3 Information is accurate. Most is written in student's own words with relevant details. Covers most of the appropriate topics and includes facts.	Level 2 Most information is accurate. Most is written in student's own words. More details could have been added. Covers some of the appropriate topics. Includeds some appropriate facts.	Level 1 Some information is accurate. Some material is written in student's own words, some phrases are copied from source. Details lacking and ideas missing or don't make sense. Poster:Organization and Layout Information and images are presented in a neat and logical manner. All sections, titles, labels, and information are included and correct.	Level 4 Organized; information about topic is presented in a clear and easy to follow manner with sections, titles, dates, etc. labelled appropriately. The images chosen are related and appropriate to the topic. Creatively, neatly constructed map with color and all essential information.	Level 3 Organized. All sections completed but may be missing 1 title or label. Pictures are included and related to the topic. Neatly constructed map with most of the information.	Level 2 Organized; 1 section missing; some sections may not be titled or labelled appropriately. Pictures are included and related to the topic. Contains the main route but no details.	Level 1 Somewhat disorganized; missing some sections, labels, or titles. Information incomplete. Some pictures are missing or somewhat unrelated to topic. Messy, difficult to read, does not contain enough information.
Creativity Care and concern for the physical display of information and images.	Level 4 The poster is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness. The title can be read from 6 ft. away and is quite creative.	Level 3 The poster is attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness. The title can be read from 6 ft. away and describes content well.	Level 2 The poster is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy. The title can be read from 4 ft. away and describes the content well.	Level 1 The poster is distractingly messy or very poorly designed. It is not attractive. The title is too small and/or does not describe the content of the poster well.
Bibliography	Level 4 All of the citations have the required elements in the proper order with at least four different types of resources.	Level 3 Most of the citations have the required elements in the proper order with at least three different types of resources.	Level 2 Some of the citations have the required elements in the proper order with at least two different types of resources.
