Ocean / Ocean Life

Students will get the chance to understand, identify and learn more about the difference in the Arctic, Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean. Students will also get the chance to learn about the layers that make up the ocean. Students will understand and learn about what all lives and makes up the four main oceans.

Oral Presentation 30 % This will be an oral report over the different parts of the ocean.	Poor Lacks knowledge over the given topic. Puts little of no effort in trying to attempt to answer any questions over the topic.	Fair Read the report directly from the paper. The student was unable to answer questions about the topic very well.	Good Has the audience engaged and interested. Clearly knows the topic. Answers all questions about the topic with great knowledge.
Powerpoint, or Book 30 % Create a powerpoint or book and write a summary about the ocean topic selected. Topic dissucssed is clear and students understand the point of the lesson.	Poor Lacks pictures or paragraphs. Student has numerous grammer and punctuation mistakes.	Fair The student's information lacks important detail. The student had a few grammer and punctuation mistakes.	Good The student has detailed information and summary matches the topic selected. The student used appropriate grammar and punctuation throughout the paragraph.
Ocean Map 20 % Students will be able to identify the differences and levels of the ocean and the functions beneath the surface of the sea.	Poor The student left out important details and put answers not relating to the topic. Student has numerous grammar mistakes.	Fair The student filled in the powerpoint or book to the best of their ability. Few grammar mistakes.	Good The student fills in and completes the assignment perfectly. No grammar mistakes.
Challenges Project 20 % Students pick something in the sea that is important and why it is important for us to maintain. With this they will have a selection of projects to pick from to express this topic through.	Poor Gave minimal effort. Numerous grammar mistakes.	Fair Had a few grammar mistakes. Completed a project but not correctly.	Good Completed the project with the best of their ability. Little or no grammar mistakes.
