Title and heading	Needs Improvement You did not write one or more or the following: the title, type of writing, name or heading.or they are difficult to read.	Good You are missing one of the following on your paper: the title, type of writing, name or heading.	Great Your title and the type of writing is written neatly on the cover with your name. You have the title and heading on your paper.
Paragraph Organization	Needs Improvement You are missing an introduction, body paragraph, or conclusion or your paragraphs are not complete.	Good You have all five paragraphs but may not have 5 complete sentences in each paragraph.	Great You have an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Your paragraphs have at least 5 complete sentences in each paragraph.
Details	Needs Improvement You have a good beginning, but your not telling enough. We want to hear more.	Good It's good to see you have been rereading your writing and adding some detail. You needed to add more.	Great You must have gone back to your work a lot, because when reading your piece, I felt like I was there with you.
Does it make sense?	Needs Improvement I am confused! You begin with one idea and then you jump to another idea.	Good Your writing piece does make some sense.	Great The spacing, spelling, punctuation marks and the details help to understand your writing piece. You went back and made a lot of changes so it would make sense.
Handwriting/Spacing	Needs Improvement It's hard to read your writing. You have spacing here and there, but it's not everywhere.	Good You started off writing neatly, but your getting sloppy. There is some spacing, but your still forgetting to use "finger space."	Great It's easy to read your writing. You must have concentrated on your work. You have spacing after each word.
Spelling	Needs Improvement You did not seem to use resources we have in our room.	Good There were a few word wall words mis-spelled that I know you could have checked.	Great Wow! Your writing looks like a published piece!
Presentation	Needs Improvement You did not add any color or details to your illustration. I think you could have spent some more time on this.	Good You illustrated the cover nicely but not the inside of your folder. It will look nice on the wall but I wish you would have kept going.	Great Your descriptive writing cover and inside is illustrated and colorful. I can't wait to hang it on the wall!
