Cell Project Evaluation

Students are to create a 3D cell model, and present it to their classmates. They will also hand in a written report which follows the scientific method format and describes the construction of their model.

Title Page 1.25 pts	Level 1 Title page is sloppy and is missing all or almost all of the required information. There are no illustrations.	Level 2 Title page is messy or unorganized. Some of the required information is stated, and there is an illustration.	Level 3 Title page is organized, and almost all of the required information is stated. There are appropriate illustrations.	Level 4 Title page is organized, original, and creative. All of the required information is present. Illustrations are appropriate and creative.
Pre-Drawings 2.5 pts	Level 1 Prototype drawing is not included in the report.	Level 2 Prototype drawing is not coloured or was very sloppy. Cell Construction 7.5 pts - Structure of Cell - Materials - Labels - Organization	Level 1 Structure of cell is not accurate. Model is messy and there are many errors in location of cell parts. Organelles are unlabelled or missing. Limited materials were used and do not reflect realistic texture.	Level 2 Structure of cell is somewhat accurate, and labelled with errors. Cell is unorganized and does not portray a realistic cell. Materials used need more variation and consideration of realistic texture.	Level 3 Structure of cell is accurate, and well organized. All of the required organelles are represented and labelled with very few errors. Materials show consideration of realistic texture.	Level 4 Cell is labelled, organized and structurally accurate. Students have gone beyond the list of required organelles. Appropriate materials were chosen and obvious thought was given to realistic texture. Cell is creative and original.
