Writing Process

The students will use Microsoft Word to write and edit their rough drafts. They will confer with a partner or group to complete the revision and editing process. They will make necessary changes using Word and print their final versions of their vacation experiences.

Unacceptable

The student does not participate in the activity at all or does not complete the activity.
Poor

The student completes a rough draft using Word, but does not revise and edit his/her own work nor does he/she assist others in revising and editing their work.
Good

The student completes a rough draft using Word, but either does not revise and edit his/her own work or does he/she assist others in revising and editing their work.
Great

The student completes a rough draft using Word, revises and edits his/her own work, and assists others in revising and editing their work.
Publishing

The students will use Microsoft Word to print their final version of their vacation stories. They will share their stories orally and then have the hard copies complied into a class book. Those who wish can also publish their writing on the class website or blog or on Writers’ Window.

The student does not participate in the activity at all or does not complete the activity.

The student uses Microsoft Word to print the final version of his/her vacation stories, but does not share his/her story orally.
