Compare and Contrast Essay - Gary Soto Literature 
Students will write a minimum of 5 paragraphs comparing and contrasting information from our short stories, The Jacket and Seventh Grade, as well as the poem, Oranges. Each paragraph must have a topic sentences and supporting details. Each paragraph must be a minimum of 5 sentences in length. Spelling and grammar must be correct.

Compare and Contrast

Excellent

There are three body paragraphs that use compare and contrast language. Textual evidence was clear and supported the information that was being compared or contrasted from the text visual elements. All three stories were compared/contrasted

There were three paragraphs about similarities and differences, but the explanations/text evidence could have been stronger to back up the style of writing.
