AVID Island Project

Work in small groups (3-4 members). On a POSTER, draw the shape of your island and create geographical features to fit the personalities of your group.

Fair Group has created a name for their poster but it is not relevant to the Island.	Poor No Title displayed on poster.
Island Shape	Excellent Students have created a unique shape for their Island(s) and it is displayed on the poster in an attractive and/or creative way.	Good Group has created a unique shape for its island, but it is not colored or displayed for easy viewing.	Fair Group has created a shape for its island, but the shape is not unique and is not attractively incorporated into their poster.	Poor No island is drawn onto final poster.
Motto	Excellent The group has displayed their unique and creative motto for their island attractively on their poster.	Good The group has included their motto on the poster, but it is not displayed creatively.	Fair The group has displayed their motto on the poster, but it is unrelated to their island's theme. Presentation
Group Presentation	Excellent Each member of the group presented multiple elements of the project. Presentation was clear, concise, and on topic at all times.	Good Each group member presented at least one component of their group's island. Members were prepared but not clear at times.	Fair Only some group members presented elements of the island to the class. Other group members failed to participate. Presentation was unfocused at times.	poor Only one member of the group presented the project to the class. Presentation was unclear and lacking necessary elements.
Participation
On- Task	Excellent The group was on task at all times and worked together to complete the project in a timely manner. Group attitudes were positive.	Good The group was on-task 90% of the time they were working together. Most group members worked together towards a common goal, but one group member failed to fully participate.	Fair The group was on-task between 80-90% of the time. Half of the group members worked to complete the task, while others were off-task, argumentative, or disengaged.	poor The group were only on-task less than 80% the time of the project.
