Sentence Outline Rubric

The sentence outline looks like a standard outline, but instead of using words and phrases to identify what will be written, complete sentences are used.

Thesis	Weak Thesis is weak.	Average Thesis is stated, however average. Is more than one sentence and does not contain all 3 parts.	Strong Thesis statement is clearly stated with certainty, contains all 3 parts, and it is written as 1 sentence.
Format	Weak Outline formatting is used somewhat accurately.	Average Outline mostly follows format with Roman numerals, etc.	Strong Outline uses Roman numerals for headings/ subtopics, capital letters and numbers for supporting info. 3 levels are present throughout.
Organization	Weak Difficult to tell the difference between headings and supporting information; doesn't use complete sentences consistently.	Average Headings don't always have general info, and supporting info isn't always specific;complete sentences are used for almost always.	Strong Headings should have general info, while supporting info should be more specific; everything should be in complete sentences.
