General Writing

The student is able to articulate thoughts, ideas, and experiences in a manner that is consistent with mechanics, usage, and formatting expectations for University of Phoenix students (i.e., APA 6th edition standards)

Below Expectations

While key thoughts and themes of the assignment were evident, the level of writing severely detracted from the message. Other factors such as formatting inconsistencies, word usage, tense errors, citations and references, and overall flow of the paper fall short of minimum expectations.
Developing Proficiency

While key thoughts and themes of the assignment are covered, some minor errors in formatting (i.e., consistent font, size, margins), word usage, tense errors, citations and references were noted that detracted from the overall message. With additional attention, these deficiencies can move the paper to a higher mark.
Proficient

Key thoughts and themes of the assignment were covered while noting few errors overall. Achieving a score in this area suggests that the paper is error free and would be used as a model example.
