Greek Play Group Lesson. Students who read Antigone, Medea and Oedipus as lit circles combine their efforts to present their respective plays to the class to show mastery of the Greek Tragedy Unit.

Students slouch and/or do not look at audience during presentation. Students are hard to understand, often mumble, do not understand some of the words being used. Volume also affects audience understanding the majority of the presentation.

Students address all of the required topics with depth: Tragic structure; hubris/hamartia and tragic hero; three unities; significance of lessons; catharsis discussion; three significant quotes; role of Chorus's insights

Students do not present or address the required topics. Numerous key points are missing.
Group Participation
Exemplary
Everyone in the group participated in the presentation. Each student participated in the presentation equally.
Good
Most students in the group participated in the presentation.
Most of the students participated in the presentation equally, but some were dependent on others to carry the load.
Fair
Half of the students in the group participated in the presentation. It's obvious some of the group members assumed more leadership than others.
Poor
Less that half of the students in the group participated in the presentation. Not all students participated in the presentation.
Effort and creativity
Exemplary
The group shows high levels of effort and creativity during preparation and the presentation.
Good
The group shows a good amount of effort and creativity during preparation and the presentation.
Fair
The group shows some effort and creativity during the presentation; lack focus during preparation.
Poor
The group shows very little effort and creativity during the presentation; lack of focus during preparation and the presentation.

Students show a full understanding of all categories of the topic. They show mastery of the content and apply the basics of Greek theatre to their play.
