3rd Grade - Spelling/Grammar Sentences

Students are writing sentences that follow a specified verb tense. Sentences need to properly follow that verb tense. All sentences must begin with a capital letter and have proper end punctuation.

Verb Tense Sentences
	Novice Beginning to demostrate some understanding of the ways to properly use the verbs in sentences. 1 pts	Basic Demonstrates some understanding of the correct way to use specified verb tenses in sentences. 2 pts	Proficient Demonstrates a complete and accurate understanding of how to correctly use the verb tense in a sentence. 3 pts
correct Verb Usage Student understands how to form a sentence and that a sentence must include a noun, verb.	Novice Student does not use any of the verbs in their sentences correctly.	Basic Student uses several of the verbs in their sentences correctly.	Proficient Student used all of the verbs in their sentences correctly.
Spelling Uses correct spelling in sentences.	Novice There may be one or more spelling errors.	Basic There may be one or more spelling error.	Proficient Every word used is spelled correctly.
Conventions of Grammar Capitalization and puncuation	Novice More than one sentence has errors in capitalization and/or end punctuation.	Basic All but one sentence begins with a capital letter and has correct end punctuation.	Proficient All sentences begin with a capital letter and have correct end punctuation.
