Summarizing two articles 
Write a summary of two articles read in class. The purpose as stated in the assignment sheet was to summarize the articles first, then choose one to recommend to a newly married couple and give reasons why.

Introduction

The introduction should not launch into the essay immediately. It should start w/a hook and gradually introduce the problem of male-female communication.

Poor

There is neither an introduction nor is there a hook. The writer simply announces, "I am going to write about. . . " or dives into the paper.
Fair

There is a hastily constructed introduction that almost works, but there is no hook.
Good

There is an introduction and it is relevant; however, there is no hook to attract our attention.
