Opening statement.	Good Opening statment lets the reader know something interesting about the topic. Lets the reader know what the explanation is about.	Fair Opening statement mentions an interesting fact OR introduces topic, but is vague. Author starts explaining first step in sequence.	Poor Opening statement is just the first step in the explanation. OR Opening statement is confusing.
Sequence	Good All are ideas are in the correct sequence.	Fair Most ideas are in the correct sequence.	Poor Ideas are all mixed up and in no sequence.
