	SENSACIONAL! 5 pts	BRAVO! 4 pts	BIEN 3 pts	POBRE 2 pts
Completion, Organization & Effort Complex sentences, idiomatic language, willingness to make mistakes, avoidance of translation tools, good circumlocution skills demonstrated	SENSACIONAL! Writer does not use electronic translation. Writing has fully detailed sentences in the target language, incorporates several sparkle words, and has attempts to stretch his-her writing skills. Paragraphs are organized and topic is discussed thoroughly.	BRAVO! Some translation technology is used but the writing is generally logical. Most information is on topic. Writer used a large amount of vocabulary and is not repetitive. Writer improves length/content over time.	BIEN Writer has included some or a few detailed sentences. Writing is somewhat disorganized but length is not improving significantly. Online translation/English phrasing is obvious. Vocabularyis basic and or repetitive.	POBRE Paragraphs are very disorganized. There is little or no flow. Incomplete coverage of topic or unacceptable length. Writer used a very small amount f vocabulary and/or translation phrases.
Comprehensibility	SENSACIONAL! Reader can always understand what the writer is trying to communicate. Spanish vocabulary and idioms are used correctly. No interpretation on part of reader is necessary.	BRAVO! Reader can understand most of what the writer is trying to communicate. Mostly correct use of Spanish vocabulary and idioms. Minimal interpretation on the part of reader is required.	BIEN Reader can understand less than half of what writer is trying to communicate and must rely on interpretation. Incorrect use of vocabulary and idioms.	POBRE Multiple errors in vocabulary/idiom usage. Incomprehensible throughout writing.
Agreement and accuracy subject and verb agreement adjecive and noun agreement and placement	SENSACIONAL! There are NO errors in subject / verb agreement. Writer stays in target language throughout and uses correct word order, spelling and punctuation.	BRAVO! There are 1 or 2 errors in subject / verb agreement. Writer usually uses correct word order, spelling and punctuation.	BIEN Writer makes 3 or more mistakes in subject / verb agreement. Writer makes frequent mistakes with word order, spelling and punctuation.	POBRE Writer makes repeated errors and displays little/no understanding of subject / verb grammar rules. Writer consistently makes errors with word order, spelling and punctuation.
