Jazz Dance Group Choreography Create Your Own Jazz Dance In Small Groups, create jazz dance choreography that includes at least 10 Jazz Dance Movements from our vocabulary sheet, 45 seconds-1:30 long, is entertaining and has high energy! 	Needs Work 5 pts	In-Progress 15 pts	Good 20 pts	Excellent 25 pts
Incorporation of Jazz Movement	Needs Work Work reflects little or no effort to include jazz dance movements.	In-Progress Work reflects some jazz dance movements.	Good Work reflects a good effort from the student. Most of the requirement has been met, but is unclear or missing some movements.	Excellent Work reflects the strong efforts of the group to include a minimum of 10 jazz dance movements.
Time	Needs Work The dance is under 45 seconds.	In-Progress Student attempts to create something new, but simply rearranges taught patterns.	Good Student attempts and succeeds at creating something new. Student uses dance styles from class in new original ways.	Excellent Student creates a successful, dynamic new routine with creative combinations.
Technical skills	Needs Work Although remembers some of dance, little attention paid to how movements are done or other details of dance.	In-Progress Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.	Good Dance performed with attention to most details of technique, but hasn't attained proficiency in dance style yet.	Excellent Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement on stage and other details of dance. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of dance style.
