Theatre Rehearsal Rubric
	Excellent The student has demonstrated excellent achievement of grade level expectations. 4 pts	Good The student has demonstrated good achievement of grade level expectations. 3 pts	Basic The student has demonstrated basic achievement of grade level expectations. 2 pts	Not Meeting The student is not meeting grade level expectations. 1 pts
Character Development Skill: Is the student creative in his/her development and delivery of their character?	Excellent Character objective and motivation is well-defined. Depth and range of choices is expansive and there is clear evidence of use of given circumstances	Good Character's motivation is somewhat defined. Depth and range of choices is adequate. There is some evidence of use of given circumstances.	Basic Character objective and motivation is lacking. There is little depth or range of choices. Student is doing little more than walking around the stage and saying lines.	Not Meeting Character objecting is not evident in any way. There is not enough participation to observe any character development.
Movement Skill: Is the body utilized to the student's utmost ability to aid in development of character's intent and delivery of lines?	Excellent Student employs excellent use of physicality to enhance character with body movements and facial expressions. Student's movements always reflect purpose. Any blocked moments are accurate and justified by the actor.	Good Student employs appropriate use of physicality to enhance character with body movement and facial expression. Student's movements usually reflect purpose. Any blocked moments are sufficiently justified by the actor.	Basic Student inconsistently employs appropriate use of physicality, but overall, moves without purpose. Execution of blocking is inconsistent. Student demonstrates little understanding of stage space.	Not Meeting Movement choices are not evident in any way. There is not enough participation to observe any movement choices.
Focus Skill: Does the student retain focus (stay in character) throughout the entire rehearsal?	Excellent Student stays completely immersed in their character throughout the entire rehearsal. Student never loses focus, even during missed lines/cues .	Good Student weaves in and out of character slightly throughout performance. Student loses focus when possible distractions occur.	Basic Student never truly immerses enough into their character to produce any kind of believability. Student's focus is easily lost, attention wavers often, student seems unprepared.	Not Meeting There is a complete lack of focus in rehearsals. Student distracts themselves others from rehearsals.
Ensemble Contribution Collaboration:Student's ability to work with others in rehearsal including stage crew and performers.	Excellent Student's awareness and willingness to connect to other ensemble members is very apparent. Student's ability to work as part of a team is extraordinary.	Good Student's awareness and willingness to connect to other ensemble members is acceptable. Student's ability to work as part of a team is sufficient.	Basic Student's awareness and willingness to connect to other ensemble members is weak. Student seems to have little concept of how to work as a team.	Not Meeting *Student has made no contribution to ensemble work.
Voice Skill: Is the voice utilized to the student's utmost ability to aid in development of character's intent and delivery of lines?	Excellent Student demonstrates good use of the voice. Basic skills of vocal requirements for a character is consistant-articulation, volume, rate, pitch and inflections.	Good Student employs appropriate use of the voice. Basic skills of vocal requirements for a character is inconsistant-articulation, volume, rate, pitch and inflections.	Basic Student inconsistently employs appropriate use of the voice.
