Final Project - Theatre design - Costumes 
Students read a given script. Working as a team, they determine an approach to the project and take on roles of Director/Lighting Designer, Set Designer or Costume Designer.

Demands of Script

Evidence of research and analysis being put into action through design. Do the designs meet the needs and given circumstances of the script. Do they illuminate the characters?

Excellent

The designs meet the time/place/style of the script. They illuminate the character traits in a creative manner.
Good

The designs shows a clear effort to meet the time/place/style of the script.
Fair

The designs address the basic needs of the script.
Needs Improvement

The designs ignore significant script demands.
Poor

The designs do not represent the chosen play in any way.
Creative Design

Originality and detail. Does the design execution represent a unique take on the script?

Excellent

There is evidence that a great deal of research and thought has been incorporated into the design. The designer has a unique or thoughtful take on the characters.
Good

There is evidence that some research and thought has been incorporated into the design. The designer has attempted to look beyond the script demands.
Fair

There is indication that there was use of the script demands. There are elements that are not appropriate to the overall style.
Needs Improvement

There is not a tie in with the script demands. There are elements that are not appropriate to the overall style.
Poor

There is no indication that the demands of the script were considered.
Presentation - 2 D

Is the design clean and crisp. Is it presentation ready?Has effort been made to create a clean product?

The renderings are clean and attractive. It is obvious that time and effort have been spent creating them. There are 6 or more renderings. There is a makeup/hair rendering.

All elements of the renderings are clean, neat, detailed, and it is evident that clear choices have been made. It appears as though student spent an exceptional amount of time getting the assignment "just right".
Good

Renderings are created neatly with some focus on the detail and technique. Clear choice has been made, though not fully executed. It appears as though student spent a good deal of time completing the assignment on time.
Fair

There is evidence of a process. Therenderings are finished but do not demonstrate a strong focus on detail nor continuity of design. It appears as though the student rushed to complete the assignment.
Needs Improvement

The renderings appear disconnected. Little focus has been placed on creating a cohesive. The pieces are unfinished. It appears as though the student ran out of time to complete the assignment.
Poor

The renderings do not have a clear design process. There is little to no execution of detail in the work.They are sloppy and incomplete.
