Atom Model
20 pts

One atom that shows protons, neutrons, and electrons.

Poor

Atomic Model is inaccurate. There are missing protons, electrons, and/or neutrons. Masses of the subatomic models do not correlate. There are not enough or too many orbitals. 2-8-8 rule has not been followed.
Fair

Atomic Model is missing a proton, neutron or electron. Most of the masses correlate. Orbitals are correct. 2-8-8 rule has not been followed. Subatomic particles are not in correct places.
Good

Atomic Model 1 missing number of protons, neutrons, or electrons. Masses correlate. Orbitals are correct. 2-8-8 rule has been followed.Subatomic particles are in the correct places.
Exemplary

Atomic model is perfect. Correct number of protons, neutrons, and electrons. They are correctly placed. The orbitals are correct. the 2-8-8 rule has been followed.
Molecule Model
20 pts

Can be organic or inorganic, but must contain the original atom model.

Poor

Molecular model does not contain the original atom. The molecular model does not show the correct bond angles or # of bonds.
Fair

Molecular model does contain the original atom. The molecular model does not show the correct bond angles or # of bonds.
Good

Molecular model contains the original atom. The molecular model does show the correct bond angles, but does not show correct # of bonds.
Exemplary

Molecular model contains the original atom. The molecular model shows the correct bond angles and # of bonds.
Creativity
20 pts

Materials used need to be original. Get creative!

Poor

Materials aren't creative.
Fair

Materials aren't very creative.
Good

Materials are creative, but not very original.
Exemplary

Materials are inventive and original!
Key and Label
20 pts

Please include a key and label for your atom and your molecule.

Poor

No key or label for atom or molecule.
Fair

Keys for both atom and molecule, but no labels. (or vice versa) Information provided does not match-up perfectly with the models.
Good

Keys and labels are there, but contain 1 piece of incorrect information.
Exemplary

Keys and labels are there and all information matches the atom and molecule models.
Overall Apperance
20 pts

Structure is made of sturdy materials and looks clean and well-made.

Poor

Materials are flimsy and falling apart. Models look thrown together quickly. Does not seem very organized.
Fair

Materials are OK, but could use more support or sturdiness. Model is just a tiny bit messy.
Good

Materials are sturdy, but models look slightly messy.
Exemplary

Materials are sturdy and models are extremely organized and clean looking.
