Length and Times Recorded	Poor Observation is less than 10 minutes and times are not recorded.	Fair Observation is less than 10 minutes and/or times of observation not complete	Good Observation is at least 10 minutes and times of observation are recorded	Excellent Observation is more than 10 minutes and times are recorded at least every 2 minutes
Objectivity	Poor Observations include many interpretations and assumptions	Fair Observations include some interpretations and assumptions but are primarily factual	Good Observations include few interpretations or assumptions and are factual	Excellent Observations are completely free of assumptions or interpretations of behavior
Details	Poor Observations are minimally descriptive and are sparse	Fair Observations are adequately descriptive and but are somewhat incomplete	Good Observations include rich detail and give a sense of "being there"	Excellent Observations are extremely descriptive and provide rich, thorough details of the child's behavior
