Excellent

Student is constantly engaged in the class activity and has fantastic ideas to contribute. Student does not need reminders to stay on task and inspires others to be fully engaged.
Strong

Student is most often fully engaged in the activity. When his/her focus wanes, she/he is quick to regroup get back on track. Almost never interrupts the work of others.
Developing

Student is often engaged in the activity but sometimes needs a reminder to get back on task. Student may wander from the group and interrupt another session. He/she may also disrupt the creative process by discussing things irrelevant to the task at hand.
Needs Work

Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student needs a reminder to get back on task, can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Unacceptable

Student is distracting to the class as a whole and constantly in others physical space. Student contributes little or no energy to the creative task.

Excellent

Student completed activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student has made huge contributions to the overall activity. At times, attempts to make others accoutable in a respectful manner.

Student usually completes activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student has done required classwork with above average effort.

Student sometimes completes activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student shows a 'middle of the line' or average effort.
Needs Work

Student rarely completes activity or holds herself/himself accountable for missing work or not following directions.
Unacceptable

Student did not complete required classwork. Student contributed little or nothing at all to the overall activity and takes no accountability for his/her actions.

Listening Skills

Excellent

Student is always carefully listening to others when they speak. Student is an active listener who inspires others to share their ideas.
Strong

Student almost always listens to others when they are speaking. Student is occasionally too eager to share his or her idea that he/she fails to listen fully to another member in the group, even though he/she fully understands the importance listenting skills.
Developing

Student tries to listen to others when they are speaking but often needs to be reminded to do so. Listening is sometimes a challenge for this student. He/she may appear to be listening, but is not fully present.
Needs Work

Student has a hard time listening to others and therefore the student needs to constantly be reminded to listen to others.
Unacceptable

Student does not listen to others and consistently interrupts others when they are talking.

Student is positive about the activities being learned in class and sets an excellent example for other students.

Student is most often positive about the class activities and encourages others to be positive as well.

Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student can be fairly negative and needs a reminder to get back on task, can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Unacceptable

Student has a negative attitude. Student makes the experience bad for others around him/her. Student may blame others rather than taking responsibility for his/her attitude.

Excellent

Student respects and encourages the views of others. Student asks questions and offers insightful comments. He/she fully supports others when they perform on stage. Strong critiquing ability. Often acts as a leader in the group.
Strong

Body and/or verbal responses indicate active listening. Student asks questions and builds on others comments.
Still developing confidence in critiquing performance. sometimes takes a leadership role in the group.
Developing

Student sometimes pays attention to the group discussion. Student sometimes ask questions and offers comments. Rarely takes a lead role in interaction.
Needs Work

Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student needs a reminder to support others on stage and in a group. He/she can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Unacceptable

Student frequently interrupts and/or puts down the views of others. Student does not politely ask questions or ask for further clarification when they do not understand something.
