Parenting Class: Field Observation of a Child

Students will observe one child to evaluate social skills with others, to identify signs of a child's self-concept and factors that may affect it. Information gathered from the observation will then be used to answer questions provided.

Observation of child Conduct a 30-minute observation of a child aged 4-6 years in a classroom at LCS. Be unobtrusive, record activities, behaviors and interactions observed in writing.

Answer one research question as a follow-up to provide more information regarding one behavior observed. Scheduling and Meeting with Adult. Contact with teacher of child to be observed in pre-k, k or gr 1. Arrange convenient date & time. Conduct follow-up meeting with the teacher, or an available adult in the room.	Excellent Motivated to complete assignment by contacting and arranging meeting as soon as possible. Contacted adult (teacher) without course teacher assistance. Capable of analyzing presented questions and pursued clear convictions/personal opinions in the meeting to support the selected objective.
