Format	Excellent Letter had a greeting, body, and closing in the correct order. Postcard style looked realistic.	Good Letter had a greeting, body, and closing. Post card style looked realistic	Fair Did not have all three parts or parts were in the wrong order. Post card was not so realistic.	Poor Did not have all three parts of a letter. No resemblance to a postcard.
Detail	Excellent Writing had quality details which were interesting and supported ideas in the book. Zorro clearly expresses his feelings & the events.	Good Writing had many details that supported ideas in the book. Zorro somewhat expresses his feelings & the events.	Fair Writing had few details that supported the main idea. The students cannot clearly express the character's feelings / what happened.	Poor Writing had no details. It seems the student just completed the assignment for a grade.
