Understanding, Awareness and Expression of Emotions

Utilized as an assessment tool to measure individual group member's level of understanding, awareness and ability to express needs, emotions, feelings. These abilities to express and understand emotions are in reference to self as well as other group members.

Emotional Expression and Awareness
	Level 1, Novice 1 pts	Level 2, Apprentice 2 pts	Level 3, Proficient 3 pts	Level 4, Distinguished 4 pts
Expression of Own Feelings	Level 1, Novice Little or no effort is demonstrated to express nor show understanding of one's own feelings/emotions despite prompting from staff members.	Level 2, Apprentice Some effort is demonstrated, through expression and acknowledgement of one's own feelings/emotions. Intermittently displays ability to connect own feelings with behaviors through specifically structured group initiatives.	Level 3, Proficient Effort is demonstrated, most of the time, through expression and acknowledgement of one's own feelings/emotions. Consistently displays ability to connect own feelings with behaviors through specifically structured group initiatives.	Level 4, Distinguished Effort is demonstrated, in at least three consecutive opportunities, through expression and acknowledgement of one's own feelings/emotions.
