Cartoon Images	Poor The images are poor and the joke or metaphor does not make sense or pertain to relevant issues.	Fair The images and joke or metaphor are vague and hard for the reader to understand.	Good Images represent political parties and members proficiently. The joke or metaphor is understood.	Exemplary Images represent political parties or members exceptionally well. The joke or metaphor is clearly understood and relevant to political climate.
Neatness / Effort	Poor The cartoon is distractedly messy or very poorly designed. Very little or no color. Images are hard to see.	Fair The cartoon is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy.	Good The cartoon is attractive in terms of layout and neatness.	Exemplary The cartoon is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness.
Spelling and Grammar	Poor There are many mistakes and they interfere with understanding the thought process.	Fair There are many mistakes but the reader can still understand the message.
