Habitat Diorama Student will develop a diorama of a habitat.

Content The diorama contains elements that portray a habitat.	Poor The diorama contains no animals and no plants. The diorama does not portray an example of a habitat. There are many gaps in info presented.	Fair The Diorama includes animals and plants of the chosen habitat. It does not contain enough info to distinguish the habitat being presented.	Good Diorama includes several animals and plants and animals of the habitat chosen. It contains enough info to distinguish the habitat that is being presented.	Exceeds The diorama includes a variety of animals and a variety of plants of the chosen habitat. It contains enough info to distinguish habitat that is being presented.
Work quality / effort The diorama shows the student put thought and effort for the diorama to portray a habitat.	Poor Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.	Fair Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.	Good The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this project.	Exceeds The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/ her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.
Appearance of diorama The appearance of the habitat diorama is clean, shows creativity, and it contains elements that portray an example of a habitat.	Poor The diorama lacks a clear understanding of the subject matter and there are many errors. Diorama is not creative.	Fair The diorama lacks style and creativity. The diorama lacks neatness.	Good The diorama is clear and logical and contains very few mistakes. The diorama is neat.	Exceeds The diorama has an element of creativity and style. The diorama is very neat.
Habitat Summary Student will write a summary of the habitat they have chosen
	Poor Student answered few questions about their habitat. The summary was not written in paragraph form and there was little evidence of research 4 pts	Fair student answered some questions. The summary was in paragraph form with a few errors. There was evidence of research 6 pts	Good The student answered all of the questions provided. The summary is in paragraph form with no errors. Clear evidence of research is present 8 pts	Exceeds The student answered all of the questions thoughtfully and completely. The summary is in paragraph form with no errors. There is evidence of careful and complete research. 10 pts
