Geometry Content

Approaching

Few of the required shapes or angles were shown in playground design. Scale drawing does not use aerial perspective.
Meeting

Most of the required shapes were used to create playground design and were indicated on the plans, including various types of angles. Mostly correct aerial perspective.
Exceeding

All of the shapes listed were shown in the plans, as well as all of the different types of angles. Includes sketches of structures and correct aerial perspective on the grid plans.
Creativity and Neatness

Approaching

Basic drawing only, few correct measurements or labels for shapes and angles.
Meeting

Most lines were drawn straight, most structures were measured and drawn correctly. Scale use is largely correct, and many interesting structures represented.
Exceeding

Lines and shapes were drawn correctly to show precise measurement. Structures are drawn accurately and to scale, with many interesting ideas for playground structures.
Calculations

Approaching

There are incomplete calculations for area, perimeter and volume.
Meeting

There are complete calculations for area, perimeter and volume. Measurements are used accurately, although there may be some errors.
Exceeding

There are essentially no errors in calculations. There are complete calculations for area, perimeter and volume. Measurements are used accurately, and there are calculations for more than one structure.
Presentation

Approaching

Describes very few shapes used or playground features, is unable to describe calculations.
Meeting

Speaks clearly. Describes some of the features of the playground and and the shapes that were used.
Exceeding

Speaks clearly and confidently. Describes all features of the playground, what shapes were used and is able to describe calculations.
