Listening Assessment

This assessment is designed as a checklist to see if students are understanding and following the listening process. This rubric will help teachers understand where students are in terms of listening comprehension.

	Poor 5 pts	Fair 7 pts	Good 10 pts
Listening Process	Poor Student does not assign meaning to most of words spoken.	Fair Student is receiving information, but does not assign meaning to some of the words spoken.	Good Student assign meaning to what they hear.
Listening Types	Poor Student is struggling to listen to the information presented	Fair Student is demonstrating an eagerness to listen.	Good Student is fully engaged in listening.
Remembering Info.	Poor Student is struggling to remember what was heard.	Fair Student uses strategies to enhance listening abilities, but does not remember all of the information heard.	Good Student listens critically, therefore is able to evaluate and comprehend all information.
