Tessellation Project Tessellation Project Quarter 2 Students will learn about tessellations and the types of tessellations that have been created. Students will then create their own tessellation using their chosen shape and transformations to create a consistent pattern. Creation Hand created a work of art in the form of a tessellation using self created template.	Level 1 ~Drawing has many gaps (not a tessellation) ~Obvious that no template was used.	Level 2 ~ Drawing has some gaps (not a tessellation) ~ Used partial template	Level 3 ~Drawing has few gaps ~Used template for most of the design.	Level 4 ~Drawing has no gaps ~Use of template is obvious.
Coloured/Presentation Tessellation is fully coloured and each tessellation is outlined in black.	Level 1 No use of the colour wheel to represent a coloured pattern and the repeated shape/design was not outlined.	Level 2 Minimal use of the colour wheel to represent a coloured pattern. The repeated shape/design included a light outline.	Level 3 Some use of the colour wheel to represent a coloured pattern. The repeated shape/design was somewhat outlined.	Level 4 Excellent use of the colour wheel to represent a coloured pattern. The repeated shape/design was clearly outlined in black to clearly represent every tessellation.
Use of Time Classroom time was used wisely and the student was on-task.	Level 1 Student was rarely engaged in project during class time.	Level 2 Student was sometimes engaged in project during class time.	Level 3 Student was often engaged in project during class time.	Level 4 Student was engaged in project during all appropriate class time.
Originality Complexity of design and originality.	Level 1 Basic design and included no originality.	Level 2 Basic design but there was some originality.	Level 3 Somewhat complex design and there was some originality.	Level 4 Created interesting and involved design. Tessellation was completely original.
Time Project was turned in before or on the due date.	Level 1 The project was never turned in, or after a week.	Level 2 The project is turned in 2-3 days late.	Level 3 The project is turned in 1 day late.	Level 4 The project is turned in before or on the due date.
