This rubric will assess student's performance in the English class based on criteria such as participation, behaviour, attitude, respect, and homework and classwork in the English class.

Attitude towards English 20 pts	Excellent Student is positive about the activities being learned in class and sets the example for other students. Student speaks in English to the teacher and to classmates.	Good Student is positive about the activities being done in class. Student tries to speak to the teacher in English.	Acceptable Student is neutral about the activities. Student only speaks English when prompted by the teacher.	Unacceptable Student has a negative attitude towards English and never tries to speak English during the class.
Respect 20 pts	Excellent Show great respect to others, adults or classmates. Always speaks politely to adults and is kind and polite to classmates.	Good Respectful to others, polite to classmates.	Acceptable Sometimes disrespectful to adults or rude to classmates.	Unacceptable A lot of talking back to adults. Often rude to adults and classmates. Frequent conflicts with classmates.
Participation 20 pts	Excellent Student is constantly engaged in the class activity. Student does not need reminders to stay on task.	Good Student is often engaged in the activities. Student could participate more in class activity, but is never causing a distraction.	Acceptable Student is often engaged in the activity. Student needs a reminder to get back on task and can be distracting to teacher and classmates.	Unacceptable Student is not involved with the class activity. Student needs constant reminders to get back on task. Student is distracting the whole class.
Classwork 20 pts	Excellent All classwork is completed on time and accurately.	Good Classwork is completed on time and is mostly accurate.	Acceptable Classwork is completed not always on time, with many mistakes.	Unacceptable No classwork is done or very little with many mistakes.
Homework 20 pts	Excellent Student always has homework well-prepared at the beginning of class and it is done with care.	Good Almost always has homework well-prepared at the beginning of class.	Acceptable Student has usually homework ready at the beginning of class. Sometimes does homework at the last minute.	Unacceptable Student rarely does homework and it is partially finished. Student shows no effort to improve.
