Use of illusion	Beginning The artwork is incomplete.	Developing The background does not have four convex lines. The background does not have five concave lines The circles are not different sizes.	Proficient The background attempted to follow the convex/concave pattern to create the illusion. Some mistakes found. Two circles are the same size.	Advanced The background is successful in following the convex/concave pattern to create the illusion. There are 4 convex lines and 5 concave lines in the pattern, repeating 3 times. All 4 circles are different sizes.
Use of colored pencils and shading	Beginning Coloring is rushed and incomplete.	Developing The coloring looks "scratchy" in appearance- looks rushed in completion.	Proficient Shading gradient is somewhat smooth, some "scratchiness" evident.	Advanced Shading gradient is smooth.
