Three Types of Rocks Foldable Project

This rubric will be used to evaluate an 8 part foldable giving information about the rock cycle, types of rocks and how they form, differences between rocks and minerals, the contribution of bedrock to soil formation, geologic resources, and understanding of a stratigraphic column with each foldable containing facts, illustrations and examples.

Beginning Has less than 50% of the required foldables or they contain inaccurate or partial information.are missing hand drawn illustrations, models, and written explanations or labels that support the topic. Quality of Foldable	Exemplary Every foldable is a different style, has clear evidence of research, contains unit vocabulary and is neatly constructed. All writing is straight and legible.	Accomplished Most foldables are different styles, have evidence of research, most contain unit vocabulary and are neatly constructed with most writing straight and legible.	Developing Most foldables are different styles, have evidence of research, some contain unit vocabulary, some foldables are neatly constructed and writing is legible.	Beginning Foldables do not show evidence of research, written language is basic without using unit vocabulary. Foldables are not neatly constructed or different types.	Total points earned:
Illustrations	Exemplary All of the illustrations or models were accurately done to the best of the student's ability and were neatly and accurately colored with appropriate labels	Accomplished Most of the illustrations or models for each topic were accurately drawn, to the best of the student's ability and were neatly and accurately colored with most appropriately labeled.	Developing Illustrations were done quickly without detail or accurate color. Most labels were not straight or neat.
