A Model Planet in Our Solar System
Grade 6 is beginning a new science unit on Planets and Other Objects in Space. For our project, students will take their knowledge of our solar system and create a 3-dimensional model of the planets. The planets should be relatively proportional to each other. The planets should be clearly labeled in some way, along with the earths layers labeled. This is a project meant to not only see how students view the solar system, but to also showcase their creativity. Students are encouraged to use color and to get creative while learning. This project is worth 100 points and we will be working on the project in class due March 28th. Each student will have to present their project to the class, so they should come prepared to discuss how their 3-D solar system model was created and be able to tell facts about the planets.
