Blocking Notation and Scene 
Students will block a two person scene. It should be clear what is going on in the scene even though the scripts are not memorized. After students block the scene, they must write down the blocking notation together. They will then perform their scene. The scene performed and the blocking notation should match up

Blocking notation is somewhat clear. The Script Scoring sheet is attempted.Most characters entrances and exits are marked. Characters move with some intent and purpose. Blocking positions are attempted but do not align with characters. The scene would not flow well without dialogue.
Proficient

Blocking notation is clear. The Script Scoring sheet is utilized efficiently. All character entrances and exits are marked. Blocking reflects character motivation. A variety of blocking positions, such as stage areas, planes, and levels are utilized to enhance the scene. Some dialogue is necessary to understand the scene.
Advanced

Blocking Notation is very clear. The Script Scoring guide enhances the blocking. All character entrances and exits are marked. Blocking positions are sophisticated and purposefully utilized. Strong and realistic blocking positions are used. The scene would make sense without the use of dialogue.
Story Line

It is not possible to figure out what is going on in the scene based on the blocking, acting and character movements. The areas are incorrectly used and there is little understanding of how to focus on stage areas.

It is difficult to figure out what is going on in the scene, based on the blocking, acting and character movements. There is some variation in using different stage areas, but it may not fit the story line.

It is very clear based on blocking, character movements, and acting what the story line for the scene is. A clear command of the stage areas is evident.

The blocking notation and the scene don't match at all. There are 10+ mistakes.
Basic

The blocking notation doesn't really match the scene. There are 7-9 mistakes.
Proficient

The blocking notation matches the scene pretty well. There are 4-6 mistakes.
Advanced

The blocking notation and the scene presented match up perfectly. There are only 1 -3 mistakes.
